A Space Designed to Adapt
The Hall at Catherine McAuley has been designed to be much more than a traditional school hall. Connected directly to the Learning Hub, it forms part of a flexible precinct where learning, gathering and community life can come together.
A dividing wall allows part of the Hall to become a separate classroom and learning space, complete with its own learning screen. This means the space can be used for everyday teaching and smaller group activities independently of the stage and main Hall.
With a dedicated stage and state-of-the-art sound facilities, the Hall will also provide a contemporary setting for assemblies, performances, presentations, celebrations and whole-school events.
Designed for everyday school life
Large doors open the Hall directly to the outdoors, allowing activities to move easily between indoor and outdoor spaces and providing even greater flexibility for learning, play and events.
The canteen is attached to the Hall, with a service window opening directly into the space, making it practical for both everyday use and larger school and community occasions.
The Hall will also support the St Nicholas’ Outside of School Hours Care (OOSH) program, giving students a spacious and adaptable environment before and after the school day.
From a classroom or OOSH space to a performance venue, assembly area or whole-school celebration, the Hall has been designed to adapt to the many different ways our students and community will use it.
